GW Pre-College students have access to university facilities including the extensive collections of the Gelman Library system, world-class athletic facilities, swimming pools, tennis courts, and state-of-the-art computer labs. GW’s campus is fully wireless, metro accessible and centrally located.
College Intensive: Foggy Bottom Campus
Resident life at the historic GW Foggy Bottom campus provides students enrolled in credit courses with a unique living experience centered in a lively academic and urban environment. Rooms are designed with a living space, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. Rooms are furnished, air conditioned, cable and phone ready and equipped with mini-fridges and microwaves. Residence halls are secure and require card swipe access. The residence hall is staffed with well-trained and experienced Resident Program Advisors to facilitate study sessions, lead skills workshops, and plan program events. The Foggy Bottom campus is located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C., and just minutes away from the White House
Summer Immersion: Mount Vernon Campus
Students reside at the beautiful, gated Mount Vernon campus, nestled among 23 wooded acres in residential northwest D.C. Surrounded by private residences and embassies, Mount Vernon campus is located 10 minutes from Foggy Bottom and is linked by a regular shuttle service. The residence halls are staffed with well-trained and experienced resident program advisors. They provide support, guidance and supervision while assisting in a full range of extracurricular activities. Students live in double room suites with shared bathrooms. Rooms are furnished, air conditioned, cable and phone ready and equipped with mini-fridges and microwaves. Entrances are secured with card key access only.
Health and Safety
Residential students have access to routine fee-for-service medical care at the GW Student Health Services on the Foggy Bottom campus. When emergency medical assistance is required, referrals are made to area hospitals and parents or guardians are notified immediately. Students who require medical assistance are accompanied by resident personnel. GW is committed to ensuring a safe and secure campus for its students. The University’s Foggy Bottom location near the White House, the Department of State and international bank buildings places it in one of the most protected places in the District of Columbia. Both the Foggy Bottom and Mount Vernon campuses have on site, around the clock security.
